Team Requirements:
Each team is to provide a crew of 17 people, 16 paddling and a drummer to keep rhythm. There is a series of heats over a course of approximately 250 metres. Each team will race at least 3 times. Via heats the fastest teams will move forward to the various semi-finals and finals. All participating crew members are asked to wear soft footwear and suitable loose clothing. Buoyancy jackets will be provided. A change of clothing may also be a good idea just in case!
For personal safety reasons:
1. The wearing of denim clothes is not permitted. 2. No one under 12 years of age may take part. (Insurance requirements)
3. Excess alcohol People will not be allowed to take part if, in the sole judgement of the Henley Dragons organisers they have consumed excess alcohol and may be a danger to themselves or others.
It is at the discretion of the organisers to refuse individual participation where they judge this to be necessary for whatever reason. This decision is final.
Awards: Dragonhead Trophies will be awarded on the day to the first three teams. There may be special awards for agreed group events. All teams will receive a Presentation Certificate of Entry.
Timing Details: Crew Captains will be notified of their registration time and the time of their first race approximately 3/4 days before race day. Racing is planned to start at 09.00am. Crew Captains must register at the Control Desk on arrival. Crews must report to the boat marshalling area 20 min before their race, or when called.
